In February this year I moved into the Transport Division of the ASU. I have been supporting Transport members for some years now as part of my work in the ASU Industrial Services Team and I am excited to be on board and working with members on a range of different issues across the division.
I am filling the big shoes of Peter Macphee who is still with the ASU, working in another division of the Union and the former president of the Transport Committee of Management John Maher who is looking forward to his retirement.
It’s already looking like a big year in the ASU Transport Division! The new Committee of Management has been elected and Zak Djurdjevic is ready to take on his new role as the President of Transport Division.
With lots of new members and delegates around the division we are focusing on training and building on our skills. We had a very successful training session earlier this year and are looking forward to another one in June!
Negotiations are keeping members and delegates busy as always with members at TfNSW and ARTC working hard to get the best deal they can from management.
Our fellow members at Harbour City Ferries are working hard to ensure their voices are heard by establishing a consultative committee to meet on a regular basis.
Meanwhile members at Sydney Trains and NSW Trains are working hard to enforce their new Enterprise agreement and keep management accountable for the decisions they make.
