NSW Government Betrayal

Today ASU members heard the shocking news that the NSW Government will reduce public sector wage increases to a maximum of just 1.5% per year over the next three years.

This follows the decision by the NSW Industrial Relations Commission to award public sector workers a pay increase of 0.3%.

Today ASU Secretary Natalie Lang told ABC news that we need wage growth in the public sector to be able to deliver wage growth and a recovery in the private sector and that the NSW Government’s decision is an absolute betrayal of the essential workers like you who have kept NSW going during this pandemic and during this crisis.

Public sector unions will be joining together over the coming weeks to fight against the NSW Government’s outrageous wage plan which will deepen the recession and not result in the creation of a single job.
