This year ASU members joined marches across the country to celebrate May Day - the International Workers' Day.
There were rallies in Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong.
ASU Secretary Natalie Lang spoke at Prince Alfred Square in Parramatta. Here are some photos and stories from the day!

ASU member, Katia Munoz also won the Unions ACT May Day Award for Advancing Women's Rights.
Katia is a long-term ASU delegate and tireless fighter for the Social and Community Sector. Katia has lobbied politicians for the ASU Equal Pay campaign, spoken at rallies to fight for the Tenants Unions ongoing funding and so much more.
Katia has grown the union movement with her continual championing, she has progressed women’s rights through her work with Toora. She is a tireless campaigner for a range of local social justice issues and just a truly lovely, caring and empathetic person.
Katia has been leading the campaign to make super work for women. On average women retire with 47% less super - and the Government's delays to the super increase have already cost Katia $17,000.
Congratulations Katia.
