Changes at Work Conduct Unit and Internal Audit

The ASU met with Industrial Relations and the Acting Head of the Work Conduct Unit and Internal Audit today to discuss the restructure.

• There is a high level review being conducted by Internal Consulting. They could not give us timeframes around the review or outcomes.
• This review came about because it was identified that RailCorp did not need two separate investigating bodies and they wanted to merge the WCU and IA.
• Internal Consulting is reviewing what the WCU can review and what should be given back to line managers, the policies and procedures of this unit, the enforcement of the ICT policy and email reviews and where DRP sits.

We have an opportunity to feedback to Internal Consulting about our concerns and experiences before they come to any conclusions.

The ASU is going to write a major submission on the future of the investigative units of RailCorp. We need your stories, ideas and solutions.
