Sydney Ferries EBA - Crunch time- What are we going to do?
- Details
- Published on Friday, 17 April, 2009
Sydney Ferries have reissued a new draft and have come back to us in writing with what they consider to be their final positions. We are going to hold a meeting next Friday 24th April to decide what to do.
In summary:
- They have rejected that they are able to find any significant employee related cost savings to justify a pay rise over and above 2.5%
- That they will not continue paying Manly and SAO’s overtime for time worked over 8 hours, as they have been for a long time.
- That the notice period for employees wishing to resign will be two weeks and the notice period should SF seek to terminate you be four weeks.
To read a full copy of the response please click here. They are now asking for us to sign off on this agreement. They have obviously not met their commitment to maintain current employment conditions. Now is the time to decide what we do.
To decide whether we fight or sign:
Date: Friday 24th April
Time: 12.00pm
Place: Meet outside Wharf 3, Circular Quay
