2009 is a year of change for Sydney Ferries. From June onwards Sydney Ferries will be in competition with the private sector to prove they are the best organisation to provide ferry services to Sydney. During this process the structure and budget of SF is going to come under heavy scrutiny and this means every job will be under review. The focus will be on the jobs in Pitt St. If SF loses out to the private sector it is likely that they will contract out or already have people doing their HR, IT, Accounts, Payroll – it is not the operational staff which will be the focus, it will be Pitt St people. Is your job really that secure?
Also ASU has been negotiating your new employment agreement. We have made lots of progress and need you to tell us if we are on the right track and what you think should be in there. If you are interested in protecting your job come to the meeting.
