2009 is a year of change for Sydney Ferries.

From June onwards Sydney Ferries will be in competition with the private sector to prove they are the best organisation to provide ferry services to Sydney. During this process the structure and budget of SF is going to come under heavy scrutiny and this means every job will be under review.

After a year of negotiations the members have endorsed the new Sydney Ferries Senior and Salaried EBA 2009. Click here to read your agreement. This agreement has locked down many of the local arrangements which had operated outside of the EBA. This provides security for our terms and conditions of employment for the future.

Sydney Ferries EBA - Final Draft Print

The final draft of the proposed Sydney Ferries Senior and Salaried EBA 2009 will be issued soon. This draft will be circulated for seven days and a staff briefing will be held.

On Friday 23rd September 2009 the Balmain Community Campaign Launch of the Gotta Love Sydney Ferries Campaign was held. It was a beautiful day and really well attended. There were some great speeches by Jack Mundey, Lee Rhiannon, MP and SF delegates Chris Mouter, Shanan Barnett and Mark Champley.

Ferries too important to sell off, protest rally told Print

A community fight to stop the planned privatisation of Sydney Ferries has gathered pace at a rally on Sydney's Circular Quay.

About 120 protesters, led by legendary trade union activist Jack Mundey, gathered at the ferries terminal on Friday in a bid to persuade the state government not to sell off the historic public service.
