 In October 2007 the ASU and the St Vincent de Paul Society signed an “in principle” agreement that the parties would work together to resolve various outstanding workplace concerns and would begin the process for negotiating the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) for SACS workers.
Despite the ASU’s many attempts to resolve the outstanding issues with IR staff at Vinnies, many of these issues remain unresolved.

SOCIETY UNILATERALLY CHANGES PAY DAY FOR SOME STAFF
Groups of staff employed by the Society have today received notification that the Society intends to move pay dates. This change will cause considerable disruption to staff who have set up automatic payments from their accounts and may now not have sufficient funds in their account to cover payments going out. |

The ASU met with Society HR and management in a final attempt to negotiate provisions of the CA that members have advised they are unhappy with. Again, the Society has refused to answer our questions or make any compromises. The Society advised today that it intends to send workers the draft agreement on 6th March for a vote. As members will be aware, the ASU will only endorse the agreement with the support of a majority of its members. Now is the time for members to decide whether the ASU endorses the Agreement. |

Collective Agreement Members will have received from Vinnies the proposed Collective Agreement which will cover “all” Special Works employees. The CA will replace the SACS Award and sets out the new wages and conditions for all Special Works employees. |
