What has been happening with your Award!
Delegates from the ASU have been working hard to win good outcomes in recent Award negotiations.
Based on your feedback in workplace meetings we have been working on securing a salary increase above the guaranteed 2.5%.
Under the NSW Public Sector Wages Policy 2007, 2.5% is guaranteed but any additional rises must be funded by STA through “employee related cost saving measures”.
A draft Award has been submitted to the NSW Government on three separate occasions, most recently on Monday, for their approval. We have not yet had a response.
What does all this mean?
No changes to your terms and conditions will be made until members vote on the proposed Award.
An Award cannot be put to you and to the vote until approved by the NSW Government.
The ASU is talking to STA and other unions about where we go from here. We will keep you continually updated of any further developments and will meet with members to talk through our options.

More breaking news….
The Sydney Morning Herald reported yesterday that the NSW Government is claiming they are set to receive an agreement from public sector unions for a 12 month pay freeze. While the ASU has been approached by the Government with this proposal, our immediate response was that it was unacceptable.
We will continue to campaign to deliver an Award that protects and recognises your performance.
