A joint meeting of APESMA and ASU Senior Manager Members took place on Tuesday 18 November. The meeting was called to urgently discuss the changes Sydney Water has been making to recently issued contracts. The meeting heard a briefing of legal implications of the changes and also discussed the ongoing Senior Manager Remuneration policy issue.
The meeting unanimously passed the following motions. APESMA and ASU Senior Managers Call on Sydney Water to; - Enter into Consultation with our Union representatives and Senior Manager Committee, to negotiate an acceptable contract.
- Offer no more of the new contracts until such time as we have reached agreement on the form of the contract.
- Commit that any Senior Manager who has signed the new contract will be given the opportunity to sign a standard contract that comes out of these negotiations.
- Negotiate with the Unions to remove the inequity of remuneration brought about by the introduction of the new car policy.
Correspondence has been sent to the organisation which calls for their acceptance of the above motions and the immediate initiation of negotiations of an acceptable standard contract.
