Railcorp-bargaining-thumbThe RailCorp Union Collective Agreement expired on March 31 2010.Your new agreement will set your employment conditions and your entitlements. Union members are campaigning to ensure the EBA is fair and equitable. We need to be united and strong to ensure we negotiate a positive agreement for all staff for the years to come.

The Combined Rail Unions (CRU) and RailCorp have agreed to have the negotiations conciliated by Fair Work Australia. This means that there is a third party hearing our claims and trying to help us reach settlement.

The first of these meetings was held on Thursday 1 July and there will be further meetings held starting Monday 23 July.

There are a number of big issues that are outstanding and these issues will be the focus of these meetings:

  • Redundancy  NOT YET AGREED
  •  Pay rise NOT YET AGREED
  • Term of the Agreement NOT YET AGREED
  • The 28 reforms NOT YET AGREED
  • Consultation through restructures NOT YET AGREED
  • Gold passes NOT YET AGREED
  • Rostering principles  NOT YET AGREED
  • RailCorp’s use of contractors NOT YET AGREED

Your vote in the Pre Strike Ballot is crucial. This vote will send a clear message to RailCorp and the State Government about how serious we are about getting a better agreement. Vote YES!

Our claims right from the beginning were simple: A fair pay rise and no selling out terms and conditions. RailCorp’s offers have been red herrings. They offer a pay rise but we have to go backwards in our conditions and accept job cuts across the network. This is our last chance to protect our conditions before a potential change of Government. Now is the time to lock down what we’ve got, especially our redundancy entitlements!

Have a Say on Your Pay and Conditions

Transport-get-on-board-nowRailCorp have refused to put a decent deal on the table in negotiations for your new Enterprise Agreement. They are still demanding that you give up conditions in order to get a fair pay rise.

The Combined Rail Unions have applied to Fair Work Australia for a protected action ballot. A yes vote on this ballot is a vote to support your right to take industrial action should you choose to.

The new Fair Work laws mean that only union members can vote in this ballot.

This means that to have a real say in what your pay rise and conditions will be you must be a union member.

You must join by the end of the week to be eligible to vote.

Fill in the form on the back now and fax it to 9698 8936 or go to: www.asu.asn.au/join

railcorp-sysiphusThroughout the EBA campaign, through the survey; log of claim endorsement meetings; emails and faxes sent to RailCorp’s negotiators; member meetings; and petitions to politicians the message has been clear. What the membership is asking for is simple and reasonable – a fair pay rise and no loss of conditions.

RailCorp is not listening.

They keep coming back to us with conditions we need to cut in order to get a pay rise we’ve already earned. Make them listen!

BADGE DAY TUESDAY JUNE 8

Your opportunity to make them listen!

Some delegates in key areas have come up with an idea of sending a simple message, by everyone in their workplaces wearing a badge on June 8th. By wearing the badge you are showing solidarity with your colleagues and sending a clear message to RailCorp to get their act together. If you wish to organise a badge day in your workplace email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for your organising pack. It’s easy!
