Yesterday members met to discuss the new rosters released by MYC and decide on whether any action should be taken. The members present unanimously voted:
• No to the New Rosters • That MYC be asked to return to the negotiating table within 48 hours • That the Chair of the Board be approached immediately Resolution Members voted and resolved that the following should take place: 1. The ASU write to MYC seeking: a) That the Out of Home Care roster commence at 2pm for both the sleepover shift and the support shift; b) That MYC enter into an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) that would allow an alternative roster (24 hours – 8am to 8am) to operate in High Needs houses (where the majority of staff agree) and that the payment of evening penalties would be triggered at 2pm; c) That the weekend support shift be at least 13 hours; d) That MYC not expand management or administration during the 4 month trialing of the new rosters; or some other mutually agreeable resolution. 2. That MYC be requested to return to the negotiating table within 48 hours and meet with the ASU to agree to the above. 3. That should MYC refuse to meet with the ASU and agree to the above then the following action will take place: • Members will stop work on Friday 21 November from 1-2pm and during this time will meet at La Valla to express discontent with the rosters and make a decision on what further action is required; • The media will be invited to attend La Valla for this meeting; 4. That the Chair of the Board be informed immediately of members discontent with the rosters. It’s All Up to the Employer Now We have today written to MYC as stated above and we await a response. Should MYC refuse to meet and agree to members’ terms, then members will be meeting to express their discontent and make a decision on what further action is required: Stop Work Friday 21 November 1-2pm La Valla 151 Reservoir Road, Blacktown Your Delegates Please continue to communicate with your delegates: Patrick Guselli Greentree, Murphy, Freehill, Des Cottage 0423 932 900
