NCR Collective Agreement 2009

Are you worth more than 2.5%?

If NCR technicians want a better collective agreement in 2009, all technicians will need to work together to put pressure on the company.

In negotiations for the new agreement, NCR are currently offering a 2.5% payrise for 2009 followed by up to 3% in following years based on performance. NCR are also seeking changes to arrangements to start of day that will require engineers to work for free and to make changes to arrangements for vehicle allowances to restrict the choice of vehicles for engineers.

While NCR have agreed to some of the claims made by ASU members, they have said no to more than twenty important claims made by ASU members. These include:

·         A payrise of 7% in 2009 and 6% in 2010 and 2011;

·         Guarantee of a five-seater vehicle;

·         E-toll and safety devices to be paid for and managed by NCR;

·         Increases to redundancy payments of up to five weeks per year of service;

·         Back up plans to cover the work of regional engineers for leave or illness;

·         A maximum of 65 hours per week;

·         A minimum 10 hour break between shifts.

To get a better offer for the collective agreement, ALL NCR technicians need to work together. An ASU meeting will be held next week to talk about what technicians can do to get a better offer from NCR.
