Menzies EBA 2011

In 2011 ASU members at Menzies united to address their pay and conditions on their Enterprise Agreement. Now that we have successfully negotiated their agreement, ASU members are working together to enforce conditions and make improvements to Menzies on a local level. With only 2 years before we’re back at the negotiating table again, Menzies staff are joining together, joining their Union and making sure we’re keeping management accountable! Here you can find out all the details of how you can get involved.

The ASU Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with Menzies Aviation Express expires on 31 January 2011 and we have now produced a survey to establish what claims ASU members want to make this time around in negotiations.
As the EBA affects everyone's life it is important to express your view about what you want this time around and what you are prepared to do to get it.
The more surveys we get the more information there is for your ASU delegates to formulate the claims for the endorsement of members. In other words, we can be sure that our claims reflect the majority of views of ASU members.
It is important that as many people as possible participate.
Menzies bargaining representative notice
The new Fair Work Act requires Menzies to provide all employees who are to be covered by a proposed EBA with a letter outlining your rights. Menzies has recently sent out these letters/notifications about our EBA.
Negotiators of EBAs are called "bargaining representatives" under the new Fair Work Act.
Members of the ASU do not have to do anything about the appointment of a bargaining representative - the ASU is automatically your bargaining representative and the ASU National Negotiating Team made up of ASU delegates and officials will conduct the negotiations for ASU members.
Now is the time for non ASU members to join the ASU so you can be represented by our experienced team.
What’s next?
The survey must be returned to your local ASU delegate or organiser by 3rd December 2010.
Once the survey results are collated your delegates will finalise the proposed claims. These claims will be voted on by ASU members before we give them to Menzies.
The National Negotiating Team will then be selected. Both Sydney and Melbourne location should nominate a delegate for the team. We are hoping to start bargaining this year
Got questions?
If you want more information about the EBA process or a copy of the survey contact your local ASU delegate.
