The ASU is a democratic union where members elect the leadership every 4 years.
Every member is entitled to stand for election and to vote.
All positions are directly elected by the members. The Branch Executive has representatives of every division and oversees the operation of the union.
There are seven industry divisions and each of them has a Committee ofManagement. The Committees of Management are made up of members who work in your industry, and they make decisions about everything that directly affects members in their industry.
When you join the ASU you will be assigned to one of these divisions:
