On Thursday afternoon, the 20th November, ASU members at Marist Youth Care walked off the job to protest against the possibility of losing up to $200 in pay cuts.

Last Friday, a 1 hour stop work meeting was held outside La Valla at which workers expressed their discontent with the proposed rosters. The stop work was extremely well attended and attracted significant media attention. Attached to this bulletin are various news articles.

Western Sydney youth workers to rally over pay cuts Print

Up to 80 youth workers will rally outside the Marist Youth Care Head Office in Blacktown tomorrow following moves to cut the workers pay by up to $200 a week.

The Marist Youth Care workers, who provide residential care and support for high needs young people, will meet to discuss the next steps in their campaign following management’s refusal to negotiate with its workers over the pay cuts.
