Water & Ports

The ASU has a proud history of representing workers in the Water and Sewerage Industry across NSW. With members across Sydney Water, the Sydney Catchment Authority, Hunter Water and other water companies, it is ASU members that deliver Water and Waste Water services to people from the Shoalhaven to the Great Lakes and from Bondi to the Blue Mountains.

The ASU has a proud history of fighting for our members rights and ensuring that each generation of workers passes on a better set of employment conditions to the next. You can check out our latest campaigns below. If you work in the water industry and are not yet a member, join the ASU now.

Members can log in to the members area to access information on your rights at work.

  • Friends of Sydney Water

    Friends-of-Sydney-Water-thumb

Friends of Sydney Water are the people of Sydney who are dedicated to keeping our water and sewerage safe and reliable and keeping Sydney Water in public ownership.

We are proud that we have some of the cleanest drinking water in the world and that our waterways and beaches are safe for the environment and for us all to enjoy because of the high standards of our Sydney Water. We want to keep it that way.

  • Sydney Water Enterprise Agreement

    EAcover

Sydney Water members pay and conditions are set down in your Enterprise Agreement. These conditions have been fought for, and won, by generations. They must be protected.

In 2012 ASU members at Sydney Water will be fighting to improve their rights at work as we negotiate a new Enterprise Agreement. Members are leading this campaign so get involved in your union campaign to protect your working conditions.

This will be a tough campaign because Barry O’Farrells Coalition Government in NSW determined to rip more money out of Sydney Water in dividend payments, outsource and cut costs. ASU members achieved an unprecedented result in the last Enterprise Agreement and we can do so again. All it takes is for Sydney Water members to get active, be strong and stay united.

  • Hunter Water Bargaining

ASU members at Hunter Water Corporation and Hunter Water Australia are bargaining for new Enterprise Agreements this year. Keep up to date with both campaigns here.
