Canon meeting update

On 15 February the Canon National Consultative Committee met to discuss 2012 Technician Goals and to continue raising concerns about GPS.
The following is an update from the recent Canon NCC meeting:
Technicians Goals
The Technicians goals for 2012 were discussed at an NCC meeting on Wednesday 15th February. The goals were the only issue on the agenda. Techs had seen a flawed document distributed earlier this year and your ASU representatives on the working group were able to negotiate significant changes that now render the goals realistic and intelligible not to mention actually more relevant in what they are setting out to do. For more information contact your local ASU delegate.
GPS
Management have said that they will continue to press to have GPS inserted into vehicles. If management wants to discuss the introduction of GPS contact with your ASU Delegate straight away. This issue raises real privacy and workplace rights concerns and it is important you get the correct advice from your ASU Delegate.
Representing Members
Your ASU Delegates will continue to strongly represent you on these and other issues, even more so that this year the EBA will be negotiated. Your ASU Delegates meet regularly by telephone across the country to discuss the issues you are facing at Canon. Your Delegates are determined to ensure that you know what your rights are at work and that your rights are respected.
The issues ASU Delegates have been addressing through the NCC and locally include: GPS and goals. This is done after consulting with you the members to make sure it is only your views represented at the NCC.
