Hunter Water Corporation EBA Campaign

HUNTER WATER EBA UPDATE

Your SBU put to HWC at the last round of negotiations that a written offer should be made so that the SBU knows exactly what is on offer and how much this is worth to HWC employees as a percentage wage increase.

HWC have since responded with the following offer a 3% per annum wage increase for a 3 year agreement.

Accepting this offer also means that ASU members accept the following:

  1.  Drafting of a Single Collective Agreement.
  2. Banding Structure for Salaried Staff
  3. Cashing out of Annual Leave
  4. Head Office Christmas Shut Down Compulsory
  5. Introduction of GPS
  6. Random Drug and Alcohol Testing
  7. Long Service Leave- The ability to access after 7 years services instead of 10 years.
  8. Parental Leave Entitlements – Increased from 9 weeks to 14 weeks paid maternity leave and 1 week paid paternity leave which currently exists in HWC policy.

With this offer being made the ASU called for a full delegates and Committee of Management meeting to be held on Tuesday 7th July to discuss the offer in detail.

The result of this meeting of your delegates and with an endorsement from your  Committee of Management there was a unanimous vote to reject the proposed offer

and seek further clarification and continue negotiations.

Your SBU next meets on Wednesday 15th July 2009.
