The ASU has formally notified IBM of the commencement of a bargaining period for an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement through the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
The formal notification is the first legal step in the process for obtaining a collective workplace agreement. It will take the majority of Flightdeck employees working together in order to obtain an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. You can participate in the campaign by joining your union, the ASU, and attending monthly meetings to make decisions about the campaign. The ASU has written to IBM to set a date for the first negotiation meeting. ASU representatives from the Flightdeck will negotiate the agreement on behalf of all Flightdeck employees. We will be negotiating for an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement that will provide legally enforceable rights to: - Regular pay rises for all Flightdeck employees;
- Pay equity for all Flightdeck employees;
- A travel allowance for all Flightdeck employees;
- Fair redundancy and retrenchment provisions for all Flightdeck employees;
- Paid shift handover periods for all Flightdeck employees;
- Fair access to leave entitlements and time off in lieu for all Flightdeck employees;
- Shift penalties for all Flightdeck employees;
- Protect existing hours of work and shift rotations for all Flightdeck employees.
- Allow all Flightdeck employees the option to work from home;
If you have any questions or to get involved in the campaign to improve pay and conditions for all Flightdeck employees, please contact your organiser, Carl Harris on 02 9310 4000 or email
