Lynne is a experienced and passionate Disability Service worker.
My involvement in the community sector started as a volunteer for a support group for children with learning difficulties. This encouraged me to go back to school at age 40 and I completed an Associate Diploma in Social Sciences four years later. These four years provided me with a deep appreciation of the invaluable work done by so many dedicated people in all areas of community services.
I have been in my present position as a Disability Case Worker for 14years and still get so much out of what I do and value the opportunity I have been given to be involved in providing support for people with disabilities and their families.
On a personal note, I live with my husband and son who just returned from overseas where he lived and worked for the past 8years. He shares his mother’s love for travelling, exploring the world and experiencing different cultures. I am interested in eastern philosophy and enjoy my yoga practices. I also have a love for animals, and when I can, I foster homeless dogs which can be a challenge but lots of fun.
I see this campaign as an extension of my job, a fairer go for myself and co-workers can only result in a fairer go for people with disabilities and their families.
