A new vision for Community Services.

The ASU has initiated a campaign to improve conditions and skills for staff in the SACS industry. Attracting and retaining qualified staff is a goal that can only be achieved through increased funding. An alliance of the ASU, peak groups and employers has formed to start this campaign. ASU launches national SACS magazine Print

Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Children's Services Bill Shorten launched the ASU's national magazine for the Social and Community Services (SACS) sector in Canberra on 1 September 2008. The launch was attended by MPs and representatives of peak organisations and SACS ASU delegates, members and officials from around Australia.

Over 2000 Members Return Survey - SACS Claim Only Weeks Away.

Over 2000 members have now returned the SACS CARE Survey making this the biggest survey response in our history. The survey is being used to draft the SACS CARE CLAIM which will then be circulated to all members and workplaces for debate and voting. The draft SACS CARE Claim will be circulated from the 25 August and will also be available online at www.asumembers.org.au/care-campaign.

CARE is an industry campaign aimed at improving the funding, wages and conditions and quality of service delivery in the Social and Community Services Industry.
