After many weeks of meetings across the country, ASU members at Qantas have overwhelmingly endorsed our EBA 9 Claim.
Starting today our claim will be presented to Qantas management by ASU delegates and members at various locations at organised gatherings of members celebrating the start of our “Worth respect” EBA 9 campaign.
What was endorsed?
The Claim is a diverse and comprehensive set of issues that reflect the significant contribution that ASU members make to every aspect of Qantas’ operation. Some of the claims are:
• 5% p.a. pay rise
• Increase in allowances
• 15% Superannuation contribution
• Improved staff travel
• Inclusion of Qantas Holidays and QDS in EBA 9
• Maintenance of our Enterprise Award standards
• Job security for staff
• Improved access to annual leave, LSL & DIL days
• Improved consultation and dispute settling clauses
• Ensuring that the intent of the part time clauses cannot by utilised to penalise or disadvantage part timers
• Better roster change provisions
• Improved classification structure
And much much more (see the ASU campaign website for the full Claim).
What’s next?
The first meeting with management is scheduled for Thursday 13 May 2010. The National Negotiating Team will detail our claims and negotiations will commence.
We hope to meet management on a fortnightly basis after our first meeting.
Watch out for our regular bulletins on progress.
