About Us
ASU and the Environment
The ASU believes that humans are contributing to dangerous climate change by polluting the atmosphere. We know this is true as 99% of the world's scientists say this is a fact. We also know that if nothing is done about climate change working people will be the worst affected, with natural disasters, droughts and more severe weather.
Future generations will suffer if we do not take action. The cost of taking action on climate change gets higher and higher the longer we leave it. We believe that those who are profiting from pollution should be paying for it, so the cost of acting on climate change is met, as far as possible, by them. These fact sheets explain some of the basics of climate change as well as how the proposed carbon tax works. Feel free to use these in your workplace and in your community. We have aimed to explain these important issues without the jargon or simplistic slogans that often get in the way of understanding the issues.
